The conference saw the attendance of over 100 experts, primarily economists, who engaged in discussions on contemporary trends in both the business and public sectors.
Keynote Topics
The keynote speakers provided insights on the current state of cyber security within corporate supply chains, exploring the underlying causes and potential business approaches. Additionally, they addressed sustainability indicators at the public sector level, with a particular focus on California. The other invited talks included the following: ‘Economic and social networks: applications to innovation and marketing’, ‘ESG reporting in corporate practice’ and ‘Ethics in business and entrepreneurship’.
BEAGLE Project Contribution
The discussions in the sessions were very diverse, but innovation was the main theme in many of the contributions. The researchers of the BEAGLE project presented a paper entitled: “DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION CONCEPT IN SELECTED EU COUNTRIES” that explored the concept of disruptive innovation and the factors that influence the adoption of disruptive innovations in selected countries. The paper indicates the growing interest in implementing disruptive innovations. Disruptive innovations are mostly created through collaboration with partners operating in the innovation ecosystem. In addition, networking is another significant driver of disruptive innovations that facilitates and accelerates the emergence of disruptive innovations. The results also showed that there was no significant difference in the approach to disruptive innovations between highly innovative Western countries and former Eastern European countries.
The contributions and expert discussions at the conference demonstrated the significant role of the innovations explored in the Beagle project in various sectors and economic disciplines, including management, business economics, marketing, finance, public sector economics, agricultural economics and more.
